Summer
camps in Nepal are different from other camps, in that they are
hosted by native village communities, as well as by institutions
in Kathmandu and by co-operation with National Park Authorities |
|
| Students may
be surprised to live for a week in a rural community which does not
have running water or electricity, but this is real life and a most
rewarding experience for those who accept the challenge |
|
Week
1 - Kathmandu. You will be welcomed by local institutions
and spend time away from classrooms. During this week you will learn
much about Nepal, it's history and religions from our selected guides,
who will take you to see their living history |
Week
2 - A week spent in a local village on the high foothills
of the Himalaya. You will learn local skills of hunting, fishing
and local crafts. We hope to provide useful work on International
schemes to raise the standard of living, such as laying and fitting
a new water pipe |
Week
3 - Is spent trekking in beautiful scenery, with camping
at night in suitable sites, or using local facilities |
| Week
4 - Includes visits to several National Parks, rides on Elephants
into the jungle, and visits to ethnic minority villages to the East
of Nepal |
| Price range
£1500 to £2700, depending on options chosen; fully inclusive
of International flights, food accommodation, transfers etc |
